Welcome to the Occupational Health & Safety Consortium

A multi-disciplinary partnership supporting Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs), public sector and other non-commercial organisations who are seeking to control, minimise and eliminate the financial and other risks posed by actual or potential workplace illness and injury. Our mission is, explicitly, to improve corporate and employee performance through preventing ill-health and promoting good health and well-being.

In June 2000 the Government published two important strategy documents - "Revitalising Health and Safety" and "Securing Health Together". The strategies set challenging targets for British industry to reduce the number of working days lost due to work-related injury and ill-health by 30% by 2010, and to reduce by 20% by 2010 the cases of ill-health caused to workers and members of the public due to work activity. Half the improvement must be achieved by 2004. The OHSC can help you identify the priority areas for your business and provide practical solutions.
