Health Promotion in the Workplace

These are additional services for Employers who want to take a pro-active approach to health in the workplace.

Sustainable Programmes

Our advisors can help you develop longer term plans for health promotion and training in order that you may become self sufficient in managing health awareness at work.

Mini Health Checks

These can be arranged on company premises or at one of our NHS Plus centres. A health questionnaire is sent to the Employee prior to an appointment with an Occupational Health Adviser. There may be an optional further consultation with a Physician. This confidential consultation gives individuals an opportunity to discuss simple screening results including:

  • Blood pressure and pulse measurement
  • Height, weight and body mass index
  • Urine analysis
  • Blood test (optional)

Advice on any aspect of lifestyle and effects on health, general health and risk factors for disease advice may be discussed. Specific advice on smoking cessation, heart disease, cancer, breast and testicular checks may be offered.

Health Promotion

General health promotion workshops or presentations may be arranged. These can include talks and presentations on specific subjects such as:

  • Healthy eating
  • General fitness and lifestyle advice
  • Tie-ins with media promotions such as No Smoking Day; Alcohol Awareness Week; Diabetes; Epilepsy; Asthma awareness.
